Friday April 3rd 2026

 Today is Good Friday, Easter is on Sunday. This will be the first "real" egg hunt for my son. We haven't gone to any egg hunts because he's been too little, so I am happy we're venturing out and doing one this year. I hope the weather is decent, it's supposed to rain.

Not a lot has been going on recently. I think the most exciting thing is I bought a new couch from IKEA. It's a black leather sectional with an ottoman. It should be delivered on the 17th. Since it's black I have decided to revamp my living room and am planning on painting the walls a dark teal. Then I might get some new flooring, maybe wood. Then possibly after that room is done I will redo the dining room too. Everything is painted pretty light, and I think it would be neat to make things a little darker. I've always been a fan of the like 1920's style with dark wallpaper/dark walls and lots of wood. 

My son is still potty training. I think it's getting better. He's doing really well with peeing but not so great with pooping. 

I'm still watching Buffy and listening to the podcast. I am a little more than 1/2 way through season 5 and I think there are only 7 seasons of the show. In this season Buffy's mom has a brain tumor and has been in the hospital. (I know she eventually dies) I have to say, it's been a little difficult to watch those episodes. I know my mom didn't die of a brain tumor, but just some of the similarities of what's going on (mom in the hospital, mom acting weird, daughters seeing/dealing) is pretty relatable.

 Not much has been going on that's been exciting or fun.  Last Tuesday was my sons birthday, my daughter was at play rehearsal so my boyfriend and I celebrated with him at home. It wasn't a big party or anything. Last Friday the kids and I went to their grandmothers and she had a little cake and gave him his presents. On Sunday my aunt and cousin came over and gave him some presents.  Not much else has been going on. It's been work and home. I've started watching the tv show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have a couple podcasters that I listen to and they have one about the show where they go over each episode. They have one for True Blood which I really enjoy but I've listened to all the episodes they have out for it so far, so I am filling in the time I have to wait for the new one of that with the Buffy one. They also have one called Morbid which is about true crime and one called Scream where they watch a horror movie and go over it. That one is probably my least f...

Tuesday February 10 2026

 I ordered little stuffed animals for my son's daycare class for Valentine's Day. I was trying to think of something to give to the kids that I wouldn't mind my son bringing home. I don't like stickers (well, I like stickers, but not for my 3yr old) or markers or anything messy and candy is a pain because it's always a whine fest. I think I will add a pack of goldfish crackers and maybe one little chocolate or something. Back when my daughter was in grade school I was pretty crafty and one year I made little pom pom hedgehogs. That was fun. Maybe if I think about it I will do something like that next year.  My boyfriend has had a migraine for like 2 days. I don't know how to help him and I feel bad because I'm pretty sure that I got him sick and thats whats causing it. He gets them every now and then, but it worries me that he has had it for so long.

Thursday March 19 2026

 It's been a while... There's been not much going on and also quite a bit going on. Nothing exciting, mainly late nights picking up my daughter from play practice. The play was last weekend, and she did great. I only went one time, which was fine. The kids that performed did a good job, but the play itself was awful.  Other than that it's just been normal everyday home stuff. Still working on potty training my son. It's going better.  Work has been a little busy, but manageable.  I've been watching more Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I am on season 3 now. It's not quite as ridiculous as it was in the beginning. I actually get more enjoyment listening to the podcast about it than actually watching the show, but I feel like I should watch it before I listen to the play by play on the pod.  Next week is spring break. We aren't going anywhere and I have to work, so it won't be anything special.
